VA Hokies Sports Organization Inc., incorporated September 7, 2011, but in existence since October 2005 is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization. VA Hokies Sports Organization, Inc. is an organization committed to providing youth in grades 2nd through 12th in the Prince William county area necessary skills to be successful on and off the basketball court. We place an emphasis on the importance of personal growth and creativity, athleticism, positive interaction with coaches and teammates, communication, self-discipline, leadership, and selflessness.
The VA Hokies is a 100% volunteer organization that provides basketball teams for boys and girls ages 10 to 19. Our primary objective is to provide quality competitive youth teams which promote the concepts of teamwork and sportsmanship. We strive to help our children learn the fundamentals of the game, enhance their athletic skills, and develop their self-esteem. In addition we assist our children in nurturing a competitive spirit that will serve them well through life.
Also, we seek to provide a high quality environment where our families, and children, can socialize and interact with one another. While this is a secondary objective, for many of us, the spring and summer evenings at the gym provide some of the highest quality family time available. In order to meet these objectives, VA Hokies solicits your participation and involvement. VA Hokies is both a nonprofit and volunteer organization. Registration fees from our players only cover a portion of our costs. We rely on the financial support of community businesses to help us provide a positive experience for the kids that participate in our program.
On behalf of the VA Hokies, our players and families, we would like to ask for your support of our mission and vision. Because of your support—and the support of our many coaches and volunteers— VA Hokies is able to make a difference in the lives of the children and youth in our community.
